Behavior of Lateral Sensors using Simulation

Title: To study the behavior of Lateral sensors using Simulation and validating the effects of its errors on vehicle dynamics functions.

Abstract of the Project:

Lateral sensors are sensors based on inertia. These range from MEMS Lateral sensors, measuring only a few square mm, up to ring laser gyroscopes which are extremely accurate but can measure 50 cm in diameter. These Sensors go into the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and its sub functions. The task is to describe the effects of errors signals of these Lateral sensors on the system. Therefore the simulation-environment (vehicle, sensors and ESP) has to be adapted and setup.

The comparison of different errors from the Simulation environment and the Vehicle environment, coupled with safety criteria has to be derived. This will be aided with the help of MATLAB. The effect of these criteria evaluation will be studied in Core controllers such as ABS, VDC and TCS also other VAFs (ESB, CRB etc).
